Congratulations to Jennifer Kirby our DP Morris Teacher of the Year for 2021! Mrs. Kirby is a true leader in our school. She organizes, schedules and gets things done with confident ease. With a smile on her face and a kind approach she makes everyone feel comfortable, both child and adult. She makes learning fun and the kids can't wait for WIN time with Mrs. Kirby.
This is my 10th year in education and my 7th year at DP Morris. I have previously taught kindergarten and second grade. I am currently the Title 1 Interventionist at DP Morris. I have been in this role since the fall of 2019.
I absolutely love getting to work with small groups all day long focusing on early reading skills and sometimes even math skills. My focus during small groups is to play while focusing on our targeted skill. When we laugh and smile we remember concepts better. My wish is that every student will love to learn because they had fun while learning.
When I am not at school, you will find me with my family. My husband and I have been married for 8 years. We have two children. My daughter, Evelyn, is four years old and will be starting kindergarten next year. My son, Wade, is one years old and is growing up way too fast.
